How Crazy is Crazy?

So we stopped at the grocery store and picked up dinner and firewood.
Texas Toast is the most delicious camp food!

We camped at Beach Side State Park 5 miles outside of town. As soon as
we left the store the rain came down hard. The 5 miles to camp were
the worst so far. Rain, wind, hills. I'm really glad we decided to
stop instead of push an extra 20 miles against the wind.

We made it to camp where there are a bunch of tsunami warning/
evacuation signs as Fort is pointing out.

This was the most luxerious camp we've had yet. Firewood, hot showers
(included in the camp fee), ocean view, dog hitch.

When we tell people we are riding to Mexico some people are impressed,
others think we are crazy. After setting up camp we ran down the beach
in our bibs (the sand was storming down the beach with the strong
wind) and jumped in the Ocean. It wasn't as cold as I expected, but I
think it pushes us closer to the crazy side. Kevin even did some body
surfing!

Scott made the fire tonight which was difficult given the rain. It was
such a blessing as we were all cold.

Today was the end of day 7. 65 mile day. No flats, no mechanical
failures. Just weather working against us!

Tomorrow our target is Coos Bay about 75 miles. It will rain. Tuesday
the sun is forecasted to come out again.
